I did it again! I bought a camera that has spent some time under the water. 5€ was not a high price and the condition seemed reasonable.
There is some superficial rust and the shutter is not working.
The camera is very well constructed and its very heavy.
There is a date stamped inside the camera. 4 MRZ 1957
he light meter is not working and there is lots of rust
There is another date on the light sensor. 25 1 57
The sensor is very rusted and does not work This piece needs to be replaced.
To remove the shutter and the lenses, I had to lift the leatherette and unscrew 3 screws on each side.
The shaft on the left is so rusted that it is blocked. I removed it, cleaned it and reinstalled it. This shaft connects the button you press to take a picture to the shutter
More rust inside. This piece can not be dismantled and I had to remove the rust with paper stipes imbebed on oil that I put through the mecanism.
The flash lever command
Note the rust on the cooking rotor
More rust in the front. To remove the lenses, just turn them till they pop out.
There are two rings between the shutter and the lenses
...and more rust
The speed control was seized.
The rest of the rusty shutter. I removed the rust with paper towels and oil
The shutter has 5 leafs. On one of the studs, the one that has the first posed blade, there are two blades.
The finished shutter
While assambling the camera, I discovered an empty space underneath the camera. If I adapt a lightmeter to the camera, I'll use this extra space for the electronics of the lightmeter since I doubt I'll find one lightmeter small enough to fit it completly inside the top of the camera.
